Have a go at fencing or get back to the sport with Droitwich club's new courses

WITH its new season in full swing, Droitwich Fencing Club is hosting a four-week beginners course for adults and older students (16+) from October 4.

The club will provide all the required equipment – so participants can just turn up in tracksuit and trainers.

The aim of the sessions is to teach the basics, – leading to the grade one award.

And those who want to take things to the next level, BAF professional coaching is also available at the cost of £40.

Club secretary Glyn Thomas said the club would welcome people of all ages – both those wanting to try it for the first time and those who have done some fencing before and are thinking of taking it up again.

“Even if you’re not a ‘competitive sportsperson’, fencing is great exercise and the sport can be suitable for almost any age – so why not try something different and get fit again after the summer break?”

The Droitwich Fencing Club meets every Tuesday at Dodderhill School from 7pm to 8pm for juniors and at between 8pm and 10pm for seniors.
