Golf Day at Droitwich's Gaudet Luce raised £6,000 for Libby Mae's Little Angels

Droitwich Editorial 7th Jul, 2019

TEAMS clubbed together at a charity golf day to raise more than £6,000 for Bromsgrove’s Libby Mae’s Little Angels, writes Oliver Clarke.

The cash was collected following the event at Gaudet Luce Golf Club in Droitwich which was won by JAM Productions.

The firm is a long-term supporter of the charity and also provided the sound and lighting for the event.

Former footballers, including Birmingham City’s Maik Taylor and Bromsgrove-born Craig Fagan, went along to support the cause.

Bromsgrove car dealership Arbury Peugeot provided cars for the day and a ‘car for the week’ prize for the longest drive competition.

Charlotte and Richard Sharratt launched the charity in memory of their daughter Libby-Mae who died in 2013, aged just two weeks old.

Charlotte said: “We couldn’t believe the weather on the day – after all the rain we had, we were expecting to get wet.

“However, I did have a word with our angel in the sky and ordered dry weather, and she shone through yet again.

“There was not a single drop of rain until the teams were finishing off.”

Libby Mae’s Little Angels has now raised £350,000 for neonatal units across the Midlands.

The charity’s next event will be the Carribean Dreams Ball at the Birmingham’s Burlington Hotel on October 5.

Tickets are £75 a head or £700 for a table of ten, including drinks, a four-course dinner and entertainment.
