YOUNG STARS from RGS Dodderhill School and Nursery took to the stage and delivered a heartwarming performance inspired by the classic tale ‘Good Little Christmas Tree’.

The show by Ursula Moray Williams, staged by children in the nursery and in Key Stage One, featured music and songs composed by Mrs Jay-Jones, Music teacher at RGS Dodderhill.

The performance unfolded as a delightful surprise, showcasing the festive spirit, confidence and creativity of the school’s youngest pupils.

The enchanting story revolves around a humble peasant couple who, in the true spirit of the season, set up a special Christmas tree adorned with cookies as a delightful surprise for their children.

As the family peacefully slumbers, the little Christmas tree embarks on a magical journey into the woods.

In an act of selflessness, the tree exchanges its needles for enchanting ornaments until its branches are nearly bare.

The heart of the story unfolds as St Nicholas himself takes notice of the little tree’s unselfish gesture.

And, in a heartwarming turn of events, St Nicholas rewards the tree by restoring its needles, emphasising the timeless message of generosity, kindness and the true meaning of Christmas. The school said these were also messages at the heart of RGS Dodderhill.

The young performers, guided by their teachers, brought the story to life with enthusiasm, spreading joy and festive cheer to the audience.

Parents, teachers and guests all enjoyed the performance as RGS Dodderhill celebrated the spirit of togetherness and the joyous magic of Christmas.

One parent described it as ‘wonderful’ and added: “This is the reason I bring my children to Dodderhill – at their last school it was so big that they would never have been on stage, here they have gained so much confidence and you can see how much attention they get.”
