Groups in Droitwich offering 'get active' schemes can apply for their share of £50,000

PROJECTS in Droitwich are being given the chance to grab a slice of £50,000 which Wychavon District Council has set aside to help people get active.

the funds come as part of the council’s annual community grant scheme which each years supports a different cause and this year are focusing getting inactive people to get moving.

Projects can make their bid for anything from play equipment and building upgrades to new activities for people of any age or ability. Any idea which aims to benefit the community will be considered.

Last year the funds were split between 21 groups including parish hall refurbishments to community shops and youth clubs.

Tracy Grubb, Community Development Officer at Wychavon, said: “We always have a lot of interest in our grants, so we encourage people to get in quickly with their bids. Bids need to come from charitable and voluntary groups that are based in the Wychavon area and can be for any aspect of community life. We look forward to seeing groups ideas on what inclusive communities mean to them.”

Applications must be made by March 31 and can be submitted by visiting www.wychavon.gov.uk/grants or by calling 01386 565168.
