IT’S all aboard with Redditch resident Philip Jarvis who will be taking an audience on ‘A Railway Journey from Studley, then Astwood Bank to Ashchurch via Evesham’.

Philip is the guest speaker at the next meeting of Droitwich History and Archaeology Society at 7.30pm on Wednesday, February 5 and his illustrated talk is sure to be of interest to both railway enthusiasts, residents and local historians.

The talk is a follow-up to one he did earlier which took the audience from Barnt Green to Redditch.

The line was part of the Midland Railway and known locally as the Evesham Loop and sometimes as the Gloucester Loop.

The whole line closed in 1960s due to the Beeching Axe.

The society meets in the John Corbett Room, Droitwich Community Hall, Heritage Way and entry is £2 for members and £4 for visitors.
