RESIDENTS fancying a summer stroll can join members of a Droitwich group for a guided walk at a local nature reserve.
The event, at Monkwood nature reserve near Holt on Monday (September 7), costs just £3 per person, and is being held to re-launch the the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust supporting group following a change of committee earlier this year.
The volunteer-run organisation, which also holds meetings on the second Monday of every month at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church, Worcester Road, Droitwich, is keen to welcome both members and non-members of the Wildlife Trust to its meetings.
John Christelow, committe member, explains “We’re really looking forward to meeting everyone and what better way to start our season than with a walk around a local beauty spot.
“Walking in woodlands at any time of year is always a pleasure but we’re hoping for a warm September evening to give us a chance to hear the birds, catch up with a few butterflies and savour the last of the summer’s flowers.”
Places on the walk are limited so booking is essential.
To reserve a place, call Sue Jenkins on 01527 821307.
