Hanbury WI's first meeting of its centenary year set to get under way

Droitwich Editorial 12th Jan, 2017   0

MEMBERS of Hanbury Women’s Institute have planned a special year of events and speakers to celebrate their centenary.

The first is taking place tonight at Hanbury Village Hall with photographer Paul Jones giving a presentation entitled ‘Droitwich Photo Album’.

Hanbury WI started in 1917 with Lady Vernon of Hanbury Hall as its first President and, during 2017, it will remember and celebrate the women who formed and continued the group over the last century.

At the next meeting on February 9 members and guests will get to have a go at making a ‘centenary pottery flower’.

Other events include a birthday meal, a birthday evening and a flower, cookery and craft show.
