Droitwich Editorial 29th Jan, 2025   0

A DROITWICH opticians is appealing to customers for food donations to help those in need, writes Gabrielle Brown.

Specsavers, in Salters Shopping Centre, is asking for contributions for the Droitwich Spa Foodbank which helps local people living in crisis.

A collection box has been set up inside the store for anyone wishing to donate as part of Specsavers’ ongoing community support schemes.

Store director Emma Singh said: “As more and more people turn to foodbanks due to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, we wanted to do our bit to help those in need.”

Droitwich Spa Foodbank fed more than 4,000 people in 2023 and is looking for donations of tinned goods, pasta sauce, long-life milk fruit juice, biscuits, cereal and jam.

Emma added: “We’ve always had such incredible support from the people of Droitwich when we’ve collected for the foodbank in the past, so if you’re in a position to make a donation this time, we’d be so grateful.”
