Himbleton looking forward to welcoming more pupils after converting from first school to primary school

HIMBLETON First School, in between Droitwich and Worcester, has now been converted to a primary school and will be taking upper Key Stage 2 pupils from next year,

The school is now inviting families who are looking for reception places for September 2021 to look around during a Covid-19 compliant appointment.

There are also some places available for children aged three and above in Himbleton’s teacher-led nursey which focuses on fun outdoor learning, using the on-site forest school.

Chair of Governors Claire Johnston said: “We look forward to welcoming even more children into our Himbleton family.”

The majority of schools in Droitwich and many parts of Worcestershire are three-tier, although the system is in the minority.

Statistics show many local authorities are changing their systems from three to two-tier and there are currently only 107 middle schools in the UK, whereas at one point there used to be 1,400.
