Home Bargains ready to open its Droitwich store, bringing 75 jobs to the town

A NEW Home Bargains store will open its doors at 8am in Droitwich on Saturday, December 5, bringing 75 jobs to the town.

The retailer, which has invested £6million in the shop on Roman Way Retail Park, is donating £2,000 to the Droitwich Community Pantry and Fudge to celebrate its arrival.

The charity provides food parcels for homeless and vulnerable people and families across Droitwich by using surplus and rescued food from supermarkets, shops, manufacturers, wholesalers and distribution centres throughout Worcestershire.

There will be 83 jobs in total at the Droitwich shop with some moving from other stores.

The new Droitwich store manager Jack Jelicic said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our new store in

Droitwich this Saturday and look forward to welcoming customers through its doors.

“Having worked for Home Bargains for over 10 years, I have to say opening the store this Saturday will be one of my proudest accomplishments.

“Roman Way Retail Park will be a great location for us and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

The 24,509sq ft store has been built on the site of the town’s former Homebase store and is adjacent to Aldi and DFS.

It will offer shoppers a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.

The outlet also has its own garden centre – GardenWorld at Home Bargains – which boasts a fantastic range of plants, soils and garden décor.
