RESIDENTS are being urged to attend an information evening on the future of the Droitwich Spa Civic Society.
The Society will have to close if it doesn’t find new committee members.
The meeting at the Rotary House will start at 7pm on Tuesday, September 6 and will attempt to answer any questions prospective new members may have.
The evening will cover information on how the society is governed, its objectives, activities and issues.
The Civic Society’s organisation including its administration, sub-groups and speaker meetings will also be on the agenda.
The Droitwich Spa Civic Society was founded in 1974 and provides a meeting place for those interested in the enhancement and preservation of the town.
It roles include scrutinising planning applications to consider a new development’s potential before discussing with developers and giving advice to the authorities.
Members can join by annual subscription and are then able to attend regular meetings with guest speakers.
Civic Society members also get to join visits to local places of interest over the summer.
Coun Richard Morris said: “Our civic society has, over the years, given great service to Droitwich Spa and, unfortunately, without new committee members will fold.
“The evening will give information concerning the Civic Society, how they get involved with Planning matters and Droitwich issues and the very positive role that the society can play in the Towns future.”
