HUNDREDS of residents and visitors braved the weather in Droitwich on Saturday evening (November 28) at the town’s annual Christmas lights switch-on.
There were a load of fun and festive activities taking place throughout the day, including a Santa’s grotto, carols performed by the Westacre Middle School Choir and The Rock Choir, along with performances by the Salvation Army Band, Wilf’s Carnival Band and Louise Roberts.
A pig roast and licensed bar kept revellers fed and watered and there was a community concert at St Andrew’s Church.
The event, which also featured costumed performers from the Norbury Theatre, a funfair and farmers’ market, was Droitwich’s biggest Christmas lights switch-on ever.
Droitwich Mayor, Coun Graham Beale, had the honour of leading the countdown and pushing the plunger.
