A TRUCK show organised by Droitwich’s Dean Hine has raised more than £5,000 for charity.

Almost 60 vehicles attended the event at Shed Food and Drink in Stourport on Saturday and Sunday.

Among them were large haulage lorries, custom trucks and some vintage classics.

Hundreds of people also attended the annual show, enjoying the truck displays and live entertainment from a variety of local acts.

Taking to the stage were ‘Forever Elvis’, Carl Fisher’s Tribute to the King, Chalky Martin and Cat O’Rourke.

Visitors could browse a variety of stalls and enjoy culinary delights at the food and drink vans.

And there were presentations for a variety of truck categories.

An auction on the Saturday raised £1,278 and a raffle added a further £572 to the fund-raising pot.

The amounts, plus the truck entry fee, entrance price for the public, and several donations totalled £5,265.

Dean has donated this to the National Autistic Society.

He said: “Without the volunteers, the companies and truck drivers that supported us and the people that came down, we would just have had a big empty field.

“I know I was the main organiser, but without everyone else we would never have smashed our £4k fund-raising target.”

The National Autistic Society is close to the hearts of Dean and his wife Sarah – the charity has supported the family since their son Austin was diagnosed with Classic Autism ten years ago.
