THE HANBURY Countryside Show pulled in the crowds and provided a fantastic day out for families on Saturday.

The 77th event showcased Worcestershire’s countryside, farming and rural life, and delivered an action-packed day for all ages and interests, despite poor weather conditions.

Popular TV presenter and countryman Jules Hudson appeared on stage to talk about his broadcasting career and opening up his garden for charity. He also visited the shows’s popular attractions and displays.

There was a variety of musical entertainment from Helen Pearson, the Ballard Singers and the SKAvengers with acts providing plenty of energy.

A parade of vintage, classic and historical vehicles featured six traction steam engines and 70 trucks, sports cars and motorbikes, while a new addition this year was the sheep shearing competition where 26 sheep shearers across the country plied their trade in an exciting race against the clock.

Other highlights included fine food, floral art, woodcarving, blacksmithing, crafts, farriery, ferrets and even a Shetland Pony Grand National, as well as shopping from around 200 stands.

Show manager Sue Farmer thanked the community for its never-ending, loyal support and praised the incredible army of 300 volunteer staff and stewards.
