IN PICTURES - RGS Dodderhill Prep School gift the joy of reading for World Book Day

STUDENTS at RGS Dodderhill Prep School in Droitwich spread the joy of reading by gifting their favourite books to the local community as part of their 2024 World Book Day event.

The young bookworms carefully selected their beloved books and wrote heartfelt messages inside each one for their new owners to discover.

The donated books, ranging from Katherine Rundell’s ‘Rooftoppers’ to Oliver Jeffers’ ‘How to Catch a Star’, are now waiting to be collected by eager readers at Droitwich Library.

The pupils took great delight in delivering their book donations to the library and expressed excitement about sharing their favourite stories with other children.

“World Book Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the power of books and inspire a love of reading in children of all ages.”




Dee Jukes from Droitwich Library expressed her gratitude for the thoughtful donation.

She said: “Thank you to the pupils of RGS Dodderhill for donating their favourite books on World Book Day.


“We are excited to see children come in and choose a book to take home and enjoy.”

The donated books are currently displayed on a dedicated bookcase at Droitwich Library.

Members of the public are warmly invited to visit the library and pick up a book to share the joy of reading.

Pupils at RGS Dodderhill enjoy reading with their teachers every day as well as with their parents,
