A DROITWICH woman is hoping to raise £3,000 for a children’s charity by taking part in the London Marathon.
Jade Scott-Walker will be running the 26.2 mile course in April for CLIC Sargent and has already surpassed the original £1,800 target.
With a new target of £3,000, the 28-year-old has also organised fund-raising events before the big day, including a quiz night at The Gardeners Arms in Droitwich at 7.30pm next Saturday (February 4).
Jade, who is a teacher at St Andrew’s First School in Barnt Green, ran the Birmingham half marathon in October and decided to take on the challenge.
She said: “CLIC Sargent is a cause close to my heart.
“They do a brilliant job supporting children and families when cancer strikes at a young age and every bit of money I raise will help give support to children, parents and carers going through a difficult time.
“The thought of the money being raised through generous donations will help me through the training, early mornings, dedication and time.”

People can just turn up to the quiz night at the Gardeners Arms.
