A JOBS Fair and Apprenticeship Roadshow will take place at Droitwich Library tomorrow morning, writes Ben Workman.
The event – from 10am to 12.30pm – is aimed at enabling young people to peruse a wide variety of opportunities following their recent A-Level and GCSE results.
Coun Marcus Hart, Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member with responsibility for education and skills, said: “In addition to traditional A Levels, there are many exciting and rewarding choices available for for young people to choose from, as part of the next stage of their academic or professional career.”
Programmes on offer include traineeships, vocational courses such as BTECs and apprenticeships.
“This apprenticeship roadshow is a great way to seek out further advice about what to do next and access information about what options are available,” he added.
Coun Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member with responsibility for communities said the events had been well-received in other areas of the county.
“Young people have really benefited from career advice and talking to potential employers and I really hope this continues during the remaining events.”
Turnout has been more than 60 young people in the first week and it is hoped there will be a similar response in Droitwich.
