A PALE ale brewed to raise funds for the Thomas Jones memorial campaign will be available from the Hop Pole pub in Droitwich from next Friday.
John Nowacki from Ambridge Brewery has teamed up with the pub’s landlord Chris Wilson to create ‘Jonah’s Ale’, following the launch of the fund-raising drive after Tom’s body was found in the River Severn in Worcester last Friday.
The casks are being sold to the pub at a nominal £11 (the equivalent of 15p per pint) with all the revenue from the sales of barrels and pints going to the Remember Jonah JustGiving page set up on Monday.
The page, which has already generated £6,600 towards its £7,000 target, is aimed at funding memorials to Tom at South Bromsgrove High School, Bromsgrove Sporting, Worcester University and West Bromwich Albion.
Chris said: “We wanted to do something to raise funds for the campaign so came up with the idea for Jonah’s ale.”
Any other landlords interested in stocking the ale for the cause should call John on 07500 046391.
Visit justgiving.com and search for ‘Remember Jonah’ to donate to the appeal.
