IT IS difficult to describe the last 18 months or so without leaning on overused clichés and everyone’s experiences will be different.
During 2021 we have had the privilege of sharing with many people in moments of celebration, but also in moments of pain and sadness. Christmas can be a challenging time for many and is definitely a time to keep our eyes and hearts open to others. Many of us will pause to remember those we love who have gone before us.
Over Christmas many will spend time with family and friends, with familiar traditions and hopefully much joy and laughter. For others it will be a quieter time this year.
At the heart of Christmas is a story of love – God’s love for the world in sending Jesus, and an invitation for us to receive that love. It is also a reminder of others around us and the incredible ability that we all have to extend love to other people.
As we continue to be thankful for all those whose acts of love, service, kindness and compassion make a difference to our lives and community, may we play our part sharing the same with others.
May you know God’s love and blessing this Christmas time.
