Droitwich Editorial 13th Sep, 2022   0

FORMER England manager Kevin Keegan will be in attendance at Droitwich Spa’s official ground opening event in November.

The Saltmen moved into their redeveloped King George Playing Fields home last month having played away in Stourport for the last four seasons.

And the club confirmed that Keegan, aged 71, will be in attendance when the ground is officially opened on Thursday, November 10.

More details are expected to be announced soon.

Keegan won the European Cup with Liverpool in 1976/77 before then moving on to German side Hamburg.

With Hamburg, Keegan won the Ballon d’Or in 1978 and 1979 and is the only English player to win the award twice.

He played 63 times for England scoring 21 goals before later going on to manage his country either side of spells with Newcastle United and Manchester City.
