Droitwich Editorial 16th Nov, 2016 Updated: 16th Nov, 2016   0

WITH Christmas approaching, Droitwich’s Messy Church will be getting all festive when the latest one takes place at St Andrews Church on Saturday (November 19).

The event, from 10am to midday, will celebrate Advent and those who go along will be making traditional Christmas crafts, including dolly peg angels, star biscuits, Christmas cards, nativity photo frames and lots more.

Messy Church will also be providing a tree for the annual St Andrews Christmas Tree Festival which is getting more and more popular year on year. Tomorrow, participants will also be able to make baubles and streamers for the tree.

All families who attend will receive a real advent chocolate calendar which comes with a 28-page Christmas story activity book designed to be used every day throughout Advent.

There will also be songs, a short talk and a free lunch of sandwiches and cake.

Messy Church is free and open to children of all ages, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Rev Bev Jameson, team vicar at Droitwich Spa, Salwarpe and Hindlip with Martin Hussingtree said “This is such a wonderful way to prepare for Christmas celebrations.”

Joe Kelleher added: “The children are so looking forward to Messy Church, it’s a great way for the family to spend a Saturday morning.”

Please note the Parish Centre Cafe will also be closed to the public that day.
