DROITWICH Lido was the venue the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) chose to highlight its Rookie Lifeguard and Survive and Save awards, along with its National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
They teach children and young people crucial skills aimed at reducing the number of drownings in the UK and RLSS UK lifeguards make up more than 95 per cent of pool lifeguards in the UK.
RLSS UK’s lifesaving director Adrian Lole said: “The Lido is the perfect place to show how much fun our lifesaving awards can be while raising awareness of what we do and what’s on offer for anyone aged eight and up.”
He thanked Lido staff for making the organisation’s representatives welcome and the local youngsters who took part in the photoshoots.
“Everyone enjoyed themselves and it was a great morning in a fantastic location.” he said.
Droitwich Lido manager Sandra Webb said it was great to have the RLSS UK visit the outdoor pool.
“All of our lifeguards are RLSS UK lifeguards and we were more than happy to support the charity in its work.” she added.
