THE LIONESSES’ historic World Cup Final against Spain is set to be shown on a big screen in Worcester City Centre.

A six-metre screen in Cathedral Square will show the build up to the match from 10am and the game live from 11am.

Fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs along.

Coun Lynn Denham, Joint Leader of Worcester City Council, said: “This World Cup final is set to be an unforgettable moment for the Lionesses, their legions of supporters and for the nation.

“I’m delighted that the City Council has been able to act quickly to get this big screen in place in the heart of Worcester and I hope residents and fans will enjoy getting together to cheer on our incredible women’s team.

“Good luck to the Lionesses!”

Coun Marjory Bisset, fellow Joint Leader of the City Council, said: “The achievement of the Lionesses has been incredible to watch.

“They are inspiring women and girls across the city and the whole of the country.

“Here’s hoping we see them raise the cup!”
