A KIND-HEARTED six-year-old Droitwich girl is having her long locks lopped after being inspired by her dad’s charity fund-raising, writes Elliot Ball.

Lexy-Mai Padley saw her dad Richard complete the Bristol Half-Marathon to raise funds for leukaemia after a friend of his passed away due to the illness.

Lexy told her dad she wanted to ‘do nice things like you and help people’.

She got the idea of having her hair cut after seeing her granddad Pete have his head shaved.

She was told she could not have her head shaved but could have her hair cut for the Little Princess Trust so agreed to do that.

She will lose at least 35 to 40cm which will go to be made into wigs for children and young people, up to the age of 24, who have lost their own hair through treatments for cancer and other illnesses.

The charity also supports the development of less aggressive and toxic cancer treatments.

Lexy-Mai will be facing the scissors on Thursday, May 30.

People can donate through Facebook by searching for ‘Lexy’s Fundraiser for The Little Princess Trust’.

She has set herself a target of £1,100 as that would equate to making two wigs.
