THERE will be a book signing local authors Barbara Middlemass and Paul Jones at the Droitwich Spa Heritage and Information Centre from 10.30am to 12.30pm next Saturday, November 4.
Barbara, who was born in Cheshire – another salt making area, has lived in Worcestershire since 1965.
She developed a keen interest in Salt King John Corbett whilst working at the Chateau Impney as a secretary from 1978 to 1983. Barbara will be signing her new book, a revised edition of ‘John Corbett, Pillar of Salt 1817-1901’.
Keen local historian Paul has had several books published including St Peter’s Church, Droitwich, The Oddingley Murders – a Photographic Tour and A Tale of Two Wyches. Paul will sign his newest book, ‘St Mary’s Churchyard, Droitwich’.
Visitors will have the chance to meet the authors and be able to see a new display of original material relating to John Corbett, from the Heritage Centre’s archives and mediaeval tiles produced at St Mary’s Churchyard, exhibited in the Salt Museum.
