Look, Skywalker Bri raises cash for charity

Droitwich Editorial 17th Aug, 2022   0

A DAREDEVIL Droitwich resident is ready to take to the skies to raise cash for a charity which is close to home.

Brian Scott-Walker, of Vines Lane, decided that he would use his gifted wing walk to raise money for his neighbour, John Adams.

John is well known in the town, six years ago he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease and was told he only had a life expectancy of 12 to 18 months.

John vowed to his family, friends and neighbours that he would never stop fighting to raise awareness of this disease and would spend his time raising funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, to help find a much-needed cure.

Brian also faced his own challenge.  To completed the wing work he has lost over a stone to qualify to be able to cavort in the clouds.

Brian said: “When my son gave me the present I have to admit I felt pretty nervous about it, coupled with the fact I had to go on a diet!

“But when I decided to raise cash for John’s campaign it spurred me on and now I am wing walk ready.

“I’ve known John for a number of years and I hope as many people as possible dig deep to support him and the MNDA.”

The wing walk takes place on September 2.

John added: “A wing walk is an impressive thing to do and I am really pleased that Brian chose to raise funds for the MDNA.”
