DROITWICH is getting a new night spot after the licensing application for the historic building at 31 High street was passed at a hearing.
The licence has received a few adjustments, and alcohol will be served until midnight Sunday to Thursday and 1am Friday and Saturday.
However, closing times can be subject to change after the tapas bars’ first year of being open.
The two men behind the business venture, Josef Millard and Angelo Petritaj are relieved by the outcome.
Angelo Petritaj said: “It feels beautiful winning the hearing and getting the license.
“It is always a positive, and it has given us more stamina to continue our vision.”
The venue will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and, at night, will turn into a bar with live music in the evenings.
Dating back to the 1400s, the historic 31 High Street is one of Droitwich’s oldest buildings, and it has been restored to its former glory over the past few years.
Angelo said because the building was listed, the protection of the building is important, and he aims to decorate it to a ‘high standard’ while also keeping its character.
The tapas bar aims to be open by summer 2023.
