A LONG serving family of a Droitwich care home have been commended for their hard work as one wins employee of the month.
Members of the Rea family including mother Alison, son Adam and daughter, Sophie have dedicated their work to residents of Dorset House care home for decades combined.
The care home wanted to honour the family for their work and have dedicated the recent employee of the month award to Adam.
His connection to Dorset House runs deep, his mother Alison has worked in the home’s catering department for 25 years and Adam became increasingly familiar with the home over the years before joining the kitchen himself.
13 years later, Adam still works at the care home after joining permanently from school following a part-time role.
Dorset House is also particularly special to Adam because it is where he met his future wife, Zara and has led to the arrival of their daughter, Daisey, with another on the way.
Keeping it all in the family, Adam’s sister, Sophie, also contributes her talents to Dorset House as a valued member of the housekeeping team.
To celebrate Adam as employee of the month, residents, staff, and families joined each other in the dining room to recognise his service.
He was met with cheers and applause as he received his award.
Marion Jenkins, head chef at Dorset House said: “Adam is kind and supportive to all the residents and staff, and he always gives 100 percent.
“I have known Adam since he was a small boy.
“He is such a fantastic asset to the Dorset House team, and we truly consider ourselves a family here.”
