A MAN was punched in the face by another man who tried to steal his bag at Droitwich Railway Station on Monday (April 4).
The incident happened just after 4pm near the station entrance.
After punching him in the face, he tried to grab the victim’s rucksack but he shouted at him and the attacker fled.
The raider was white, 5ft 8ins tall, in his late 30s and of slim build.
He was wearing a long-sleeved top and jeans and had several teeth missing.
Det Con Richard Day from British Transport Police said: “Thankfully, the victim was not badly injured in the assault, but he was left extremely shaken by what happened.
“This took place at a peak time in broad daylight and we are sure someone will have seen something which could help us with our investigation.
“This is an unusual incident for Droitwich station, where crime levels are very low – just seven offences in total were recorded there last year.
“I would urge anyone who was using the station on Monday afternoon, and recalls seeing the offender or hearing a commotion, to contact us.”
