FESTIVE fun was in the air at Droitwich Christmas Market when it was officially opened on Tuesday (December 8) by the town’s deputy mayor, Coun Roy Murphy.
Coun Murphy said: “We’ve been blessed with fine weather, but nevertheless we’ve got an interesting range of stalls – depicting Christmas of course – and with gifts, food and just about everything you could wish for.
“So do come along – it’s a real experience to be here.”
The Norbury Theatre’s panto dame Madame Dolores Lilly Chantalie, who was also there, said: “I was invited by my friend, the mayor, as he opens Droitwich Christmas Market.
“So I travelled all the way from Peti Pois in rural France just to enjoy the festivities and the wonderful weather.
“It’s absolutely fantastic. I’ve even brought my own recyclable shopping bags – we’re very eco-friendly in Peti Pois – so I can do all my Christmas shopping at Droitwich Christmas Market.
“I suggest you have a glass of mulled wine too.”
Droitwich Christmas market will be open from 9am to 6pm everyday until Sunday (December 13).
