A WYCHAVON District Councillor for Droitwich has organised a meeting for residents to have their say on issues affecting the town, including planning, housing proposals and the South Worcestershire Development Plan.
Coun John Hartley will host the event at The Riflemans Arms, Station Street, from 6pm to 7.30pm on Wednesday, September 1.
Coun Hartley said with the ending of restrictions I am keen to resume my monthly residents meetings.
He added he was proud proud of everything he and residents had achieved over the past year, despite the many challenges, ranging from working with the local housing association to resolve multiple issues to working with the county council to see roads re-surfaced, and problem trees removed.
“It has been heartening to see residents pull together to stand up against inappropriate development in the ward, and I’ve worked hard to communicate their feelings to the planners at Wychavon, who have enforced planning rules where necessary.
“The SWDP (South Worcestershire Development Plan) will shortly be finalised and voted on, and this could radically alter our town over the coming decades.
“Participation in Local democracy has never been more important, and I urge all residents to attend this meeting to raise their views.”
Wychavon officers and county councillor Richard Morris will be in attendance to take questions.
Further Meet Your Councillor events with Coun Hartley have been organised for October 6 and November 3.
