Meet your councillor events in Droitwich

Droitwich Editorial 9th Aug, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016

SPA RESIDENTS can meet their councillors at two events being held in the next two months.

Those living in Droitwich West will be able to meet councillors Jan Bolton and Catherine Powell at the Westlands Community Day on August 12, between noon and 3pm, at the Westlands Community Day.

Then, on September 15, Coun Roy Murphy, who represents Droitwich Central, will be paying a visit to a number of businesses in the North Street area of the town.

The aim of the ‘Meet your Council’ events is to give residents the opportunity to have their say on issues affecting the area.

Tracy Perkins, Wychavon District Council’s localism and communities officer, said: “Some of the best Meet your Council events we have done have taken place during the summer at community games, fetes, flower shows and music festivals.

“All of the events will offer open surgeries or similar opportunities for people to come along to – without the need to make an appointment – and chat to their councillor and our officers, so we hope anyone with anything to say will take the opportunity to come and meet us.”

Among the issues which have been addressed following last year’s events have been litter, dog mess, overgrown hedges and damaged goal posts.

The Meet your Council events will continue throughout the year.
