A SPECIAL music and arts festival is being planned for next year to celebrate Droitwich anniversaries.
They include 20 years since the Droitwich floods, the saving and reopening of the Lido and 50 years for Droitwich Boxing Club.
A meeting to discuss the event will take place from 6pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday, July 28, in the upstairs room of The Old Cock pub, Friar Street.
Anyone interested in helping plan the festival, being part of it or putting forward ideas is welcome to attend.
Coun Richard Morris said: “These events brought our terrific community together.
“It would be good to celebrate with music and arts throughout the town, supporting our great hospitality venues.
“Join us and help build on the Rik Mayall Comedy festival and other fantastic festivals.
“All these show Droitwich is a real centre for great music and arts.”
The idea is backed by the Droitwich Arts Network, Norbury Theatre group and, previous music festival organisers, ‘For Droitwich Spa’.
With sufficient interest and volunteers, the festival could start or end with a carnival.
Those unable to attend but wanting to register their interest should email: [email protected] to let him know.
