MEMBERS of Droitwich’s SPArkles WI pulled out all the stops to win rosettes at the group’s 2019 ‘Village Fete’.
From vegetable cakes and pencil sketches to upcycled rugs and floral displays, the WI members made sure each class was filled.
SPArkles WI President Karen Philpott, voted Best in Show, said: “The judges commented how tough their job was this year with so many colourful, tasty and intricate creations being entered.
“We wanted to make the fete accessible to everyone so added categories including ‘Something I love To Do’ and ‘It wasn’t meant to look like this’.
“SPArkles isn’t just about jam-making and crafts – it’s about having fun, adventures, trying new things and above all making new friends.”
The WI meets at 7.30pm on the first Thursday each month at Spectrum Days, Old Coach Road, where there are guest speakers and, of course, cake.
