THE MID-WORCESTERSHIRE Labour Party has announced its first wave of candidates to contest wards in Droitwich and the surrounding areas in this year’s local elections.
On May 4, Wychavon District Council elections are taking place alongside Town and Parish Council elections.
Alan Humphries and Alex Knudsen will be contesting Droitwich South West while Anthony Kelly and Val Humphries will be up for Droitwich West.
James Knudsen will be up for election in North Claines and Salwarpe and Catherine Neville will be the Ombersley candidate.
Mid Worcestershire CLP Chair, Alex Knudsen said: “I am pleased to have such a strong set of candidates in this first announcement, who I know will be working tirelessly to earn your trust and your vote as we move towards the elections in May.
“If you can’t see a candidate for your ward yet, don’t worry as we’ve got a 2nd announcement already on its way.”
The local Labour group announced its election campaign launch will take place on April 1 at the Norbury Theatre, with special guest speaker Jess Philips MP attending.
