MORE than £1,000 worth of jewellery was stolen during a burglary in Droitwich over the weekend.

The incident happened between Friday (November 28) and Sunday (November 30) when the raiders smashed a window pane in the back door and put their hands through to let themselves in.

The haul included a pair of large pearl drop earrings, a pair of gold hoop earrings, a single gold hoop earring and a pair of gold drop leaf earrings.

A ladies’ opal and diamond gold ring was also taken – the opal is oval and centrally mounted, surrounded by small diamonds.

As well as the cost, the jewellery was of sentimental value and some of the items stolen went back generations.

Residents are being urged to be on the look-out for items matching the description of the jewellery taken.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
