A CHARITY has won the support of Droitwich’s MP, turning him pink in the build-up to its flagship fund-raiser.
Nigel Huddleston has shown his commitment to Breast Cancer Now, by dressing up in pink this week in aid of women with breast cancer and has urged Spa residents to show their support in the charity’s ‘Wear it Pink’ fund-raiser on Friday, October, 23.
The Mid Worcestershire MP joined fellow Parliamentarians in wearing pink in Westminster for the charity, which is entering its 14th year and has raised more than £28million for world class research into breast cancer.
Launched in June 2015 with the ambition of ensuring that no one dies from the disease by 2050, Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity – created by the merger of Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
“Every year in the UK around 50,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer.
“This is why we all must come together to support Breast Cancer Now’s cutting edge research, and Wear it Pink is a fun and simple way for everyone to get involved,” said Mr Huddleston.
“Together, we can make a big difference for women with breast cancer and I hope everyone in the local community will join me in wearing pink to show their support for Breast Cancer Now.
“Anyone can take part in school, work or at home. All you have to do is wear something pink and donate whatever you can,” he added.
