SPRING is in the air so get on your dancing shoes as a brand new class kicks off in Droitwich for the over 55s in just two weeks time.
Led by experienced dance teacher and choreographer, Fiona Hay, the Chance to Dance classes for men and women aged 55 and over will take place at the Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre every Thursday (beginning April 14) from 12 midday until 1pm.
Launched by DanceFest, the classes are supported by Wychavon District Council and funded through the ‘Get Wychavon Active’ scheme.
Director of Dancefest Rose Beeston said: “Our Chance to Dance classes are popping up all over Worcestershire. Their popularity is due to people wanting a fun way to improve fitness and wellbeing and what better way than dancing to great music!”
The exercise-based weekly classes aim to increase flexibility and strength as well as improve balance.
Fiona plans to use a range of music styles from past and present – providing a positive social solution to gentle exercise.
Classes cost £3.50. To join email [email protected] or call DanceFest on 01905 611199. Visit www.dancefest.co.uk for more information.
