THE PLANNING application by German supermarket Lidl to build a new store in Droitwich has been recommended for approval by officers.
Existing buildings on George Baylis Road, deemed to be ‘of poor quality’ by officers would be demolished to make way for the supermarket, which would bring 20 new full-time jobs to the town.
The application will be heard by Wychavon District Council’s planning committee on Thursday, May 31.
The approval would be subjected to a full assessment of the submitted bat report and 11 conditions.
Among them are that construction starts within three years and opening times would be from 6am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and bank holidays and between 10am and 4pm on Sundays. There could be no deliveries outside of opening times.
