New features - including tractor and zip wire - added to play area at Droitwich's Churchfields Farm

A NEW impressive play area has been officially opened at Churchfields Farm in Droitwich.

The latest addition to the ‘Fun Farm’ has been unveiled and boasts a delightful wooden, farm themed adventure playground and zip wire.

The long-awaited opening followed a gruelling schedule which saw the whole family and the Churchfields team pull together to complete the project with tonnes of sand, top soil and turf.

Will Kerton from Churchfields said the project was one of their biggest for a while.

“It’s been great to see it go straight into action and watch the kids enjoying it and discovering all it’s different features. We hope our visitors have as much fun exploring it as we’ve had designing it.”

The new wooden playground, designed and built by TouchWood Play (Bristol),  features an enormous tractor and trailer themed climbing element with towers, ladders, climbing ropes and much more.

There is also plenty of sand play to go around as well as separate wooden climbing elements, swings, low ropes and tunnels.

Churchfields Farm owners, Gillian and Will Kerton have also added a zip wire too for just a bit more fun.

The original play area was launched last year and featured a giant covered sandpit, a pedal tractor area and small go kart track plus the very popular Fairy Trail with its wooden wildlife sculptures and fairy related elements.

Last year a new improved outdoor go-kart area was introduced with a pair of giant inflatable bouncers and more animal paddocks.

During the school holidays, Churchfields Farm regularly hosts themed events across its Fun Farm with topical crafts, themed trail,  live shows and special guests such as magicians, wildlife experts, princesses, pony rides and circus skills folk.

Seasonal events include Maize Maze (during the summer), Jurassic Farm, Pumpkin Festival, Farmer Christmas and Lambing Live.

During the rest of the year the Fun Farm is open at weekends and visitors can book a ticket online or buy on the door.

For little ones there is the Junior Fun Farm on a Thursday and Friday.

Churchfields Farm recently received permission to add a small seasonal campground and a few accommodation pods to the land opposite the farm.
