YOUNGSTERS at Westacre Middle School now have a library to write home about after the new facility was unveiled.
The library has been open since the start of the new school year and has recently been officially unveiled.
It holds over 7000 books and also features a life-sized tree, sofas, breakout areas, touch screen computers and café style reading and research areas.
Students can use the library throughout the day and it also runs a club where youngsters can choose to either relax and read something on their own or listen to a librarian reading a book.
Headteacher Donna Evans said: “A whole new library was a huge investment but our children deserve a welcoming well-resourced library that all children can access.”
The school’s librarian, Amanda Burton, added: “Our library is the hub of the school. It is used throughout the school day and is very popular during break and lunchtimes when children can come and relax with a book of their choice.
“Our pupil librarians are a group of avid readers who help keep the library running smoothly.”
