A NEW-LOOK playground on the Westlands estate was officially opened on Wednesday after undergoing a revamp.
The work on the area on Meadow Road was carried out after it was deemed unsafe.
Lynda Libetta, from the Westlands Residents Association, said: “It serves all the children on the estate. I don’t know how many there are, but there must be hundreds.
“There was one park with very little in it with a very dangerous surface, and it looked horrible.”
A councillor and Platform Housing teamed up for the project and the opening was carried out by Mayor of Droitwich Spa, Coun George Duffy.
Coun Richard Morris, who paid for the park’s roundabout from his divisional funds, said it was great to see the area refurbished.
“Hopefully, children are going to get a lot of fun out of it, and it will be an asset to the community.”
