DROITWICH is set to get a new Saturday market, in response to feedback from shoppers in the town.
The event in Victoria Square comes two years after the Droitwich Charter Market was brought back to the town – that was on April 21, 2023.
Since then, whilst the charter market has been well-received, residents and shoppers alike have expressed their desire to have a Saturday one as many people are at work during the week.
Today (Monday) Chloe Ford from Bluebell Events revealed the organisation is now in a position to hold a market in Victoria Square on the second Saturday of every month from April 12.
She told the Standard: “When we started the market we had some really good feedback.
“Friday can be quieter for a market day so we always thought that as soon as we were able to offer a Saturday market for Droitwich we would definitely do it.
“We tried a Saturday market and it was packed – really busy.
“If this one goes well, we might even try to do two-a-month.”
