A NEW parking discount scheme has been launched in Droitwich High Street in a bid to attract more shoppers.

Wychavon, in partnership with Droitwich High Street traders, have launched the new parking perk which will see customers get £1 towards car parking if they spend £10 in a participating shop.

The offer applies to the Droitwich High Street or Ricketts Lane Car Park and is open now until Christmas Eve 2017.

All customers have to do is show the refund section of their parking voucher to claim and Wychavon will reimburse the traders.

Coun Richard Morris, portfolio holder for economic growth and housing for Wychavon, said: “This has been a challenging time for the traders on Droitwich High Street, but we have done a number of things to support them during the improvement works.

“This is a new one and we’re hoping it will encourage people to visit the fantastic array of shops we have on the High Street.

“I urge people to shop locally and support our high street wherever they can.”

All traders participating in the scheme are displaying A4 posters in their shop windows, visit www.visitdroitwichspa.com for more information.
