COUNTY council chiefs have launched The Rona Hub for younger communities in the county.

Aimed primarily at people under 30, the site is designed to help people access the latest advice and support on Coronavirus.

‘The Rona’, as the virus been nicknamed by younger communities, has affected us all, in one way or another.

Whether 17 or 27, the virus can still disrupt and impact life, and it’s important guidance is there to help young people clearly understand how you can take care of yourself and others.

The hub is designed to be the first port of call for advice, for every younger person, whether they’re working from home, or unemployed, a parent, a student, someone with disabilities, a young professional or entrepreneur.

Dr Kathryn Cobain, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire, said: “We know Worcestershire is made up of lots of different communities, and it’s really important that we do all we can to help everyone understand the key messages and changes in guidance.

“Younger people are suffering the effects of the pandemic and information is not always targeted at this age group. The Rona Hub is here to help you get the message, straight. It’s a place where you can avoid the theories on Facebook and chat on Twitter, and just read the latest news and advice.

The site lays out each stage of the Coronavirus cycle, from symptoms, to getting tested. As the site develops younger residents will be asked to contribute video diaries and share their stories of coping with the pandemic.
