DROITWICH youngsters vying to become the next Andy Murray or Serena Williams are in for a treat as the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA)’s ‘Tennis for Kids’ scheme gets underway.
The scheme is aimed at being a fun introduction to tennis for kids between the ages of 4-11 and takes place over six sessions at Droitwich Spa Lawn Tennis Club.
Lee Cowan, who will be coaching on the course, said: “This really is a fantastic initiate and creates a real buzz around Droitwich Tennis Club and our partner club The Droitwich Lido.
“The courses always prove a great success attracting hopeful tennis stars of the future and quite often gets their parents/guardians involved too once they have caught the tennis bug.
“We are a growing club and are having our final two courts resurfaced, making our courts playable all year round, all weather.”
As part of the scheme, each participant will receive a Tennis for Kids ‘Balobat’ racket, ball-set and personalised t-shirt all delivered directly to them for £25.
There is also a follow-on offer to encourage them to keep playing at the venue after the course is complete.
