THE new leader of Wychavon District Council Bradley Thomas has vowed to continue to make the area a better place following his election last Wednesday.

Coun Thomas was elected a council meeting last Wednesday after Coun Linda Robinson announced she would be stepping down from the role after three-and-a-half years as leader.

A new executive review board has also been announced, with Coun Richard Morris the new deputy leader and board member for Economic Growth and Tourism and Coun Ron Davis in charge of resources and investment.

Coun Gerry O’Donnell is the member for housing, health and wellbeing, with the council’s environment, recycling and street scene projects being overseen by Coun Emma Stokes.

Community engagement, culture and sport will be the responsibility of Coun Rob Adams.

Coun Thomas, who has been on the Wychavon council since 2014, will remain at the helm until the district elections in May 2019.

Coun Thomas said: “I’m pleased and very grateful for the support of the support of the whole council and the confidence they have shown in me.

“My priority will be to ensure we continue to strengthen our delivery on our key priorities of people, place and prosperity.”
