THE NHS are teaming up with a creative non-profit in Droitwich to offer a wellbeing event for residents.
Droitwich, Ombersley and the Rurals Primary Care Network (PCN), a local group of GP practices working together to provide integrated services, are partnering with Droitwich Arts Network (DAN) to host a free event aimed at boosting heath and wellbeing in the community.
A PCN is a local group of GP practices working together to provide integrated services. The Droitwich PCN will bring its expertise in healthcare while DAN will provide its outlook on enriching people’s lives through arts and creativity in all of its forms.
The event will play host to two sessions at the Droitwich Arts Network Hub in St Andrews Square on Saturday, February 22 (10.30am – 2pm).
Rhys Jones, chairman of Droitwich Arts Network, said: “I am delighted to welcome the NHS team into the Hub.
“The combined teams from the NHS and Droitwich Arts Network will offer a range of activities to encourage people to look after their mental health as well as their physical health.”
The Droitwich Arts Network will be offering a variety of arts and crafts activities and a virtual reality experience for relaxation. Recognising the therapeutic value of art, members of Droitwich Arts Network will offer activities such as Mandala and Origami to encourage wellbeing.
While the PCN team will be running two drop-in sessions, completely free. The first Mental Health session, ‘CBT in a Nutshell’, will be held at 11am, followed by the second session, ‘Understanding Anxiety’, beginning at 12pm.
These sessions will be run by a qualified mental health practitioner. The PCN team will also be able to check your blood pressure on the day.
Holly Johnson, PCN operations manager, said: “The Primary Care Network (PCN) team are looking forward to working collaboratively with the Droitwich Arts Network, and the local community, to highlight the importance of focusing on our health and wellbeing.”
