Double-yellow lines will NOT be painted along The Holloway says council

THERE will be no double yellow lines painted along The Holloway, according to Droitwich Town Council.

The authority had received complaints about cars parked on the road, causing drivers to take lengthy spells on the wrong side of the road to avoid them.

This week the site was visited by town councillor Bob Brookes and a highways officer.

Coun Brookes said: “We have had a look at The Holloway and the highways officer did not deem there to be any significant safety issues which would lead us to consider parking restrictions at this present time.

“The road is relatively straight and a small amount of parking has the benefit of creating a natural traffic calming feature.

“Furthermore I have checked our statistics for the last three years, during which time there were no recorded accidents in this area.”

The council said it will continue to monitor the road so if any accidents do occur in the future we may reconsider.
