OMBERSLEY Golf Club has teamed up with Macmillan Cancer Support for a 20-mile Elite Golf Challenge.

The event on Saturday (July 30) will see participants complete 72 holes in one day.

The club is closing its doors so only those taking part will be able to play at the course.

There will be 20 teams from Worcestershire taking part using the four-ball format with the best two Stableford scores counting. There will be prizes for the best team.

Each player is asked to raise at least £200 so the charity can meet its target for the event of £20,000.

The challenge starts at first light and the challenge will continue until the 20 miles are completed or the 72 holes are played.

Family, friends and supporters are very welcome to go along as well.

Kelly Whitehouse, Worcestershire’s Macmillan fund-raising manager, said every year 3,285 people in Worcestershire heard the devastating news they had cancer and it still claimed the lives of 1,550 people across the county.

““Together we can make a difference to people’s lives.”
